AI Assistant & Agent Development

Recent projects include developing custom AI assistants and intelligent agents that handle complex workflows whilst integrating seamlessly with existing systems. These solutions leverage large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and custom tooling to deliver practical automation without the complexity and cost of enterprise AI platforms. Focus areas include conversational interfaces, automated content generation, and business process automation that works within existing infrastructure whilst respecting data sovereignty and security requirements.

SSAA Victoria Website & CMS

The Sporting Shooters' Association of Australia (Victoria) required migration from a complex legacy WordPress installation to a modern, maintainable platform. Working alongside Picta Creative, who delivered a contemporary redesign, I implemented the complete technical rebuild and migration. This involved preserving all functionality whilst modernising the codebase, careful data migration, rebuilding custom features with current best practices, and implementing the new design. The result is a faster, more modern & secure site that staff can confidently update without technical assistance.

Bureau of Meteorology Home page

BoM had a new page design from tender but no internal capacity to implement it. I worked closely with the external designers, focus groups, and an accessibility advisory to translate the creative to a completely self-contained and fully accessible front-end. In parallel, I worked with internal teams to develop and implement a custom data layer to aggregate their weather feeds in a way that was stable and fast. The result was a major success and remained in place almost unchanged for over 12 years.

Pali / ProbityPro / GovMan

I was originally involved in developing the base code for a Governance, Risk, and Compliance system that eventually became Pali GRC. I was engaged by the parent company years later as Chief Operating Officer in order to further refine the product and user base. Over a period of nearly five years I completely overhauled the code-base, application front-end, and Pali brand; whilst also developing and launching two sibling brands with associated identities, websites, and marketing collateral.

GizMag / New Atlas

I initially became involved with New Atlas when it was GizMag, and developed their first CMS as a bespoke solution. Some years later they were facing branding, technology, and revenue issues, and wanted to make some changes. I oversaw the creation of a new brand, and then joined as Solutions Architect & COO, during which time I ran the technical team, liaised with external agencies, redesigned the website, and conceptualised and managed the transition across to an external CMS solution.

Kinko For Publishers DMP

The Bureau of Meteorology had been selected to trial Government advertising on their website and had neither the appetite nor resources to do so in-house. Working closely with their internal teams, I developed a solution to maximise revenue with minimal impact, and also handle the major increases in traffic from things like severe weather events. In the process I designed and developed an integrated Data Management Platform to handle the massive amounts of logistics and data generated.
